P3.9 (you will also see it written P3.91) has become the default pitch for outdoor event screens, and the reason is simple economics: it is the coarsest pitch that still looks sharp from 4 metres away. Go finer and you pay for detail your audience cannot see. Go coarser and the picture falls apart when people walk up close.

Three ways to install it
Ground support is the most common setup for events: the screen stands on its own frames on a patio, lawn or hardstanding, with no structural work, and a two-person crew can assemble or strike it in well under an hour once practised. For stages, the same cabinets hang from truss with standard rigging bars. For permanent advertising positions, the cabinets bolt to a steel wall frame instead.
Viewing distance: where P3.9 wins and where it loses
P3.9 resolves cleanly from about 4 metres. If your closest viewers stand nearer than 3 metres, a P2.5 indoor-style pitch will look noticeably sharper and is worth the premium. If everyone watches from 6 metres or more, P4.8 shows the same content for less money. Most event screens live exactly in the 4–15 metre band, which is why P3.9 outsells everything else.
RV or XS cabinet: pick by how often the screen travels
We build P3.9 in two cabinet series. RV is the value option: same LEDs, same image, more internal cabling, a little slower to service. XS is the touring option: integrated power box, power and signal through connector pins, fewer cables to fail and faster fault-finding on site. Buyers who rebuild the screen every weekend tend to choose XS; buyers with a semi-fixed screen or a tight budget take RV and never regret it.

What is the difference between P3.9 and P3.91?
Nothing in practice. The true pitch is 3.91 mm; some makers round it to 3.9. The panels, resolution and price class are the same.
How bright is a P3.9 outdoor screen?
Our P3.9 outdoor panels run at 4,500 nits or more, which keeps the picture readable in direct daylight. Indoor panels, for comparison, are typically 800–1,200 nits.
Is P3.9 weatherproof?
The cabinets are IP65-rated outdoor designs, built to run in rain and dust. Like any outdoor screen, they still need sensible cabling and wind-rated structures for permanent installs.
How many cabinets do I need for my screen size?
Each cabinet is 0.5 m wide and 1 m tall. Multiply the width in metres by 2 and the height in metres by 1: a 4m × 2m screen is 8 columns × 2 rows = 16 cabinets.
P3.9 or P4.8 for my event?
P3.9 if your closest viewers stand 4–6 m away or you show detailed content like sport with tickers. P4.8 if the audience is consistently 6 m or further, where it delivers the same impact for around 15–20% less.
